- Many video cards with S3 chips caused the conflict you mentioned. Two
- solutions:

- Get the latest S3 drivers -- many manufacturers fixed the problem

- Move modem. Com2 is a good choice, if you can disable any existing
- serial port you have there (assuming its an internal modem).
